TEHRAN – Iran and Bahrain have planned to from a parliamentary friendship group in the near future, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said in Manama on Friday.

Hosseini is on a tour of Bahrain at the head of a group of senior Iranian journalists.
Expansion of relations with Persian Gulf littoral states is Iran’s top priority, the spokesman told Iranian and Bahraini delegates at a dinner hosted by Iranian ambassador to Manama Amir Abdollahian.
“Iran’s two main priorities are improving relations with Islamic states and also neighboring countries and Bahrain receives both priorities,” Hosseini added.
“At the moment 11 sub-committees are active in Iran-Bahrain cooperation committee tasked with regulating the two countries’ relations in different areas.”
He also said negotiations are underway for the third round of transmission of Iranian gas to Bahrain.
Iran and Bahrain have taken the required measures for establishing a parliamentary friendship group, the spokesman stated, adding that the Iranian delegation has also proposed forming Iran-Bahrain reporters’ friendship group
